That isn't an "invalid email" indicator. You are allowed to enter more than one recipient at a time. The "x" is to allow you to remove one from the recipient list if you change your mind. Did you actually try to complete the donation, or did you stop when you saw that? I didn't try to send myself an e-card (for obvious reasons), so I can't verify the process works all the way through, but this particular issue isn't a bug, it's a feature.
