ABANDONED PROJECTS
I've recently started reading stories with explicit sexual content and for the most part have been tickled pink. But, I have noticed many stories seem to be incomplete and abandoned by the authors. Mostly incomplete stories on sexstories.com. I have tried, in vain, on finding the completed stories elsewhere. That is how I found this site because I was reading BiStanders work "Potential" there and they were incomplete and found 40 chapters here. He also responds to forum posts here, Yay. So, I guess this is where he hangs out now.
So, my question to all, including the admin, how does one feel about my posting "singular stories" by abandoned authors here (giving them full credit) and suggesting someone pick up multiple chapter stories and complete them, here. I would list the stories from other publications. Example: My Sister and the Exchange Student by TAMPERER, posted 2014, 14 chapters, dramatically incomplete. Promising 3 more chapters and never heard from again.
May not have posted this is the right spot. If not can you move it?

Moved to the forum's "General Chat" subcategory, where it belongs.
Now: An abandoned story is still a copyrighted story. Without permission from the author/copyright holder, what you're suggesting is still copyright infringement, which I can neither condone, nor conspire in by posting such stories here.
If you want people to take up the mantle of these stories, here is what I would suggest:
* Post a link to the existing story material, in its current home.
* Give a synopsis/story codes of the story, so that people will know what it's about before clicking the link
* Give whatever suggestions you have for continuing the story (if any).
* Lather, rinse, repeat.
There's no reason to post the story here, just to get people to read it so that someone might continue it. Of course, this is still problematic, as they wouldn't be able to post the original story along with their continuation, any more than you can. It would be a very weird sort of thing: "Read the start of the story at this link before you read what I wrote..." I mean, it's doable, but it's weird.

I understand the feeling, and share it, in some cases. But realize that, even if you got someone to continue the story forward, you still wouldn't know the intended ending of the story, because only the original author would know that. If you inspire someone else to come up with an ending... well, you might as well just think one up for yourself; it's just as "canon". Plus, you're guaranteed to like it.

PS: On the flip side, if the original author actually had an ending in mind, they'd probably have finished the story in the first place, so... *shrugs*

If only I had such talent I would be publishing stories of my own. I do have a modicum of talent for spelling and grammar and if anyone wanted me to proof read stories before they are published, I would freely.

I'm glad you found Wolfpub. It's amazing how many people read my shit on Sexstories and don't see the dozens of comments I have left telling them to look elsewhere for my stories. At chapter 30, I gave up. I couldn't get the admin to tell me why there were clones of their site, comments and all, in Russia. On the cloned sites, I couldn't get anyone to respond to my requests to have them stop stealing my work.
So, I wrote comments on the last chapter, telling everyone I wasn't posting new chapters there anymore. You'd think everyone would end up here. Right, you'd be wrong. They email and message me asking why I'm not finishing my story.
It is a shame when a good story suddenly stops, and you're left wondering what happened. I've started books by professional authors, trilogies, then waited, and waited for the second or third book. Nothing.
On a porn story site where regular schmoes like us are working our fingers to the bone without pay, you're more likely to find abandoned stories. People burn out, die, go to prison, get pissed off at negative comments and stop writing, or maybe they're just people who don't care. Me, I've always tried to treat others the way I hope to be treated, that's why come hell or high water, I'm going to finish Potential unless it kills me first.
If you know of some GREAT stories that need to be continued, contact me personally, and who knows, maybe after Potential I'll need something to do.
