American Politics and causing trouble.

I have been advised by others that I should alter this. I don't think I will though.

If you are not an American citizen or if you are one of the millions of American citizens who are driving this country into the ground with your ignorance and/or apathy over who is president, who represents you in Congress or who your governor may be, I'd recommend you go away now because this blog entry either A) Doesn't concern you or B) It will be boring and will be a waste of your time and Eric's bandwidth.

Thank you. 3dsmile

On to the topic at hand.

First off let me say that I am NOT a big fan of John McCain. The man has problems, politically speaking. He is too far to the center to be widely liked by the Republicans but holds just enough Republican beliefs that he isn't loved by the center either and certainly not by the left. He is a man with out a figurative country.

No matter what rumors you may have heard, I am also not a Republican. I admit to being a Centrist who tends to lean more right than left. I voted for George W. Bush and plan to vote for John McCain. Not because I particularly like John McCain's policies but because I do like John McCain as a person and I DISLIKE Barak Obama's policies that much and I neither like, nor trust, Barak Obama as a politician and maybe more importantly, I don't like or trust him as a person.

Now, onto the reasons I don't like Barak Obama.

I'm sure if I wanted to spend the time and trouble to do so, I could go out and find all kinds of links and articles to support my positions but I won't do it because simply put, if you have "drank the Kool-Aid of Obama," whatever articles or proof I can present will be wasted on you.

You are a follower, not a fan, not a supporter but a follower. Like the disciples who followed Jesus. I support John McCain! I do not worship him! I do not follow him! I do not need, nor do I want, a fucking Messiah in the White House. This has been going on since Obama first became a national figure and it has gotten steadily worse over the last 3-4 years. People treat him, people behave, as if Barak Obama is some kind of Heaven-sent messenger who has been sent to fix all of our troubles.

Ladies and gentleman, it's a load of malarkey.

The man is not sent by God. He is a man. A smart, charismatic man, I'll grant you but still a man.

A few quick Reasons I won't be voting for Obama:

1) Reverend Wright: The pastor of Obama's church for the last 20 years, now retired, is a black supremacist. I do not believe that Obama can go to this man's church for 20 years and NOT find out the man's beliefs. I can't believe, that if he DID know Reverend Wright's beliefs that he would continue to go to that church, if he did not feel the same, at least somewhat.

2) William Ayres: The founder and leader of the 1960's terrorist group known as "The Weather Underground." The man has confessed to these crimes and has, only recently, come out with the statement that he is not remorseful for what he/they did and that he feels they didn't do enough!

3) Experience: Barak Obama has NO executive experience at all. He's never run ANYTHING bigger than an office in his lifetime. People say Sarah Palin doesn't have enough experience to be President. Fine, but she isn't RUNNING for President and, technically, she has more executive experience than Barak Obama, who, by the way, IS running for President.

4) Socialism: Barak Obama has all but ADMITTED he is a Socialist. He beliefs in redistribution of wealth through taxation. The Europeans are suffering the effects of this idea right now. I am NOT a socialist. America is NOT a socialist nation.

I'm quite sure I am going to get an e-mail or three telling me I'm a racist. That I don't like Barak Obama simply because he's black. These e-mails will be ignored and promptly deleted. So don't bother! I am not a racist. I have no problem with a black person as President. I can think of two black people, off the top of my head, who I would be happy to support as President: Former Secretary of State Colin Powell and current Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. I dislike Obama as a person and as a politician because of HIM and his politics, not because of the color of his skin.

Why, you racist motherfucking sonofabitch!  3dbig_smile

Okay, there, I said it for everyone else, so now those of you who think that don't have to bother.  3dsmile

I agree with your points, Jefferson, though I sadly fear that we will be outshouted this November.  Obama scares me in a fundamental way.  I don't think he has any understanding of exactly what his policies will wreak on the nation.  People may or may not agree with McCain, but it cannot be legitimately stated that he doesn't understand the consequences of his actions.  Obama has gotten everything he's ever wanted.  To my knowledge, he's never lost.  (Note, I said "to my knowledge".  I don't care enough to look it up.)  That kind of person should never be given power; losing is a very important life lesson necessary to effective leadership.

McCain's certainly not perfect, but, as usual, we're picking the "lesser of two evils"... and given the likelihood of a Democratically-controlled Congress, McCain is by far the lesser of two evils.

Eric.

Re: American Politics and causing trouble.

Ah hell - I was going to write a long assed, Dennis Miller style rant, but lets face it - we will not get "Decent" people in political office because the "Decent" people are just that - Decent. All we will ever get in our current system are those who have played the system and "win at all costs" mentality will rule.

A great many people will not run for political office because they cannot stand "Party" rules or the American press running a flashlight up your ass and find out that when you were 12 years old you had sex with an 11 year old girl. The headlines would read: "Local Politican Has Sex with 11 Year Old Girl"

I hated Carter, liked Reagan ( I was in the military then), indifferent to HW, tolerated Clinton, and detested W. What the hell am I going to do with these two nitwits? Personally , I'm not fond of either.

Why can't we ban negative campaigning and go with (and I know this is a strange concept) the issues.

If I did ever win the Presidential election, I would ban "Pork" projects, support a balanced budget, tell the world that if you want our help, then you can damn well pay for it, and ban night baseball. I would make damn sure that I had FACTS to support my position, a sound plan to get our asses out of a mess before implementing it, and an intern that learned to give blowjobs naked.

Oh - and by the way
I'm calling my party the "Fuck it - Nuke Em" political party.

Thank you for your support

I know I'm an idiot - but what else is there to do - I've fought and been beaten down - gotten up and knocked down again - It's like a sober drunk. An oxymoron I know - but so is our government.
