Re: aewsome virals

See, here's the problem:  Unless they really change the story, Mr. MIYAGI is Japanese (well, Okinawan, close enough...).  All the people you guys are naming are Chinese.

Are there any really popular Japanese martial arts stars?

You end up in "samurai cinema" with Ken Watanabe and Toshiro Mifume starring in Rashomen and Seven Samurai...

I think it reflects the Hong Kong location for most martial films more than anything..

Re: aewsome virals

Greetings

The japan reference reminded me of a movie I saw years ago with Scott Glenn as a boxer involved in Japanese Samurai blood feud - "The Challenge"

My memory was it was pretty good, might be worth a look

Look up Sonny and his Japanese Action Club and you get "Hiroyuki Sanada" who was in Speed Racer and Rush Hour 3 plus a long list.  I saw the wiki entry and picture and went:  "..oh yeah him"

But Japan cinema still more the samurai sword bushido et al culture

Re: aewsome virals

I've never really followed the Speed Racer cartoons so looking at it from a total outsider's perspective it looks pretty cheesy to me.  I might watch it if there is nothing else I want to see at the time it is out but it will not be a high priority movie for me.

Re: aewsome virals

lol i was gunna say the same thing jefferson

speed racer is the 3rd anime ever

for the record
#1 Astro Boy
#2 Gigantor

and all 3 have been remade at least once

what i thought was weird was that Racer X and Rex Racer are played by different actors

Oh btw myspace has the trailer for Hellboy2 in there trailers section along w a movie staring Angalina Jolie called Wanted that has a Equilibrium feel to it

Wanted is a cool graphic novel. (How could it not be with a character named Shithead?) It should translate well to the big screen.

I'm looking forward to Hancock, with Will Smith.

Check it out at Apple trailers.

Re: aewsome virals

Yikes!  This guy can't be serious.  I'm sure it is viable but even in the US is there not restrictions concealed weapons?  This thing doesn't actually look like a gun until it is deployed after all.

Re: aewsome virals

In the US, it's illegal to own a fully automatic weapon, so any issue about how you're concealing it is irrelevant.

Re: aewsome virals

I was going to say about the fully auto weapons thing too but then I was questioning myself if it actually was.  I know he called it a machine gun right at the start but you can get a semi-auto civilian version of the M-16 too so I would guess a small modification would get around that one.

Re: aewsome virals

well he also says at the beginning that its just a concept weapon and they have no plans to manufacture it

doesn't mean i don't want to see how it handles
