Wow spell checker

I have recently noticed that Net Wolf has recently added spell checker  to his forum (probably because of people like me who can't type worth a shit).

Re: Wow spell checker

I would surmise that TransVader has just switched over to using Firefox, which was a built-in spell checker.  I haven't changed this forum since I installed it.

Re: Wow spell checker

Net,

Talk to me.

Firefox has a built-in spell checker? Is it just in the latest versions? I haven't upgraded to 2.0. If there's a spell check on here, I've never seen it. 3dsmile

Re: Wow spell checker

It may be a 2.0 addition, I don't know.  I do know that when I mis-type something in these forum boxes (or try to type a name like Neitherspace... 3dsmile ), it underlines it in red to let me know about it.

Re: Wow spell checker

It's not the buttons that drive me crazy. It's how they give NO instructions on how to install the thing, (I'm secretly computer illiterate. Okay, maybe it's not such a secret) give no hint of whatever you might need to do to keep your bookmarks, make it work etc.

I LOVE Firefox. I love how it's so adaptable and everything, my wife and I BOTH swear by the thing, but EVERY TIME I've DL'ed a major update, I've had trouble getting it to work. It happened with 1.5 and, a month or so ago, I DL'ed 2.0 and had trouble with it again. I ended up deleting 2.0 and going back to 1.9.5 or whatever it was that came just before 2.0 just to get it to work. It takes me days to get Firefox working again whenever they put out a big change. THAT"S what I hate.

I LOVE the buttons! hehe. *Blushes*

Re: Wow spell checker

o.O

Okay, quick lesson:  The only thing you need to "save" between versions is your bookmark list.  So, follow these steps:

1. Export your bookmarks. (Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks, then in the new window, File > Export... )
2. Download and install the new version, without regard for whether it saves your bookmarks or not.
3. If necessary, import your saved bookmark list. (Back to the Organize Bookmarks window, then File > Import...)

I had to download 2.0 from scratch onto this machine in order to use it at all (I despise IE7), and I had not the smallest bit of trouble making it work.  Took me about a half-hour to set all the settings exactly how I wanted them, but other than that...

Re: Wow spell checker

I would have sworn there was a spellcheck function somewhere on earlier versions.  But I can't find it now, so maybe I'm goofy in the head. Oh well.  Maybe I was thinking of some other browser.  I guess that's possible too.

Re: Wow spell checker

Yes the spell check was an added feature of 2.0.  When I upgraded there was an option during the install to import settings from the previous install.

If for whatever reason you decide you don't want to make the change I would suggest looking at extension options and see if anyone has wrote one for 1.5.x version.
