Tuna Bunwiches

Easy, tasty hot sandwiches that reheat well.

Yield: 6-8 sandwiches
  • 1 tsp. lemon juice
  • 1/4 c. Miracle Whip
  • 1 can tuna, drained & flaked
  • 2 Tbsp. onion, minced
  • 4 oz. Velveeta, cubed
  1. Preheat oven to 350F.
  2. Separate and butter top & bottom sides of all the buns. Place each bun buttered sides up on individual squares of aluminum foil.
  3. Mix all the ingredients together, adding the cheese only after the other ingredients are combined.
  4. Wrap in aluminum foil and bake at 350F for 20 minutes. Serve immediately.

Helpful Hints

Refrigerate leftover sandwiches still covered in foil. Reheat them in the oven at the same time/temperature, or until heated through. I usually use the dried minced/diced onion you can buy in the baking aisle for convenience. I use regular size hamburger buns (fairly small) and a regular/small can of tuna. You can adjust the quantity you want to make by doubling the recipe and using 8 jumbo buns or halve the number of sandwiches made by making a single batch and using 4 large hamburger buns instead of 8.
