What is the average % a lawyer charges to settle a car accident case?
I was in an accident a few years ago and wondering what is the average that a lawyer charges. I was told I would be charged 22% but being young and dumb I didn't get it in writing. Then he refered the case to another attorney and now both of them are getting that percentage which he said would come out of his fees but that all of a sudden changed to them basically getting half of my money.

If you got nothing in writing, then you're probably screwed. However, if you think that they are behaving in violation of attorney ethics, you can file a complaint with your state bar association.

PS: Yes, I know the term "attorney ethics" is an oxymoron.
