You have my condolences nightsecho....I am sorry for your loss. Saying that he is no longer in pain does very little if nothing to comfort you. I hate valentines day for my own selfish reasons...which don't matter.
My grandmother died in '93 about 1 in the morning on Thanksgiving day...strangely enough I celebrate Thanksgiving more strongly than any other holiday ( except maybe Halloween ) partly to celebrate her but also to remind myself to be thankful for ALL things good and bad... I gather my "family" ( not just blood- family to me are those who have walked beside me as my friends and brothers and sisters- blood or no blood ) and we have a feast in memory of the dead and dying and tell each other what we are thankful for...
...sorry to ramble on
...like I said you have my condolences for your loss

No prob...basic human courtesy, if you need to talk to someone e-mail me...sometimes talking helps...but sometimes it doesn't...anyway if you need an ear let me know
At any rate I hope things brighten for you
