Numerical weirdness

Okay, first, I want to make this quite clear up front:  I do not believe in numerology.  There are no such things as magic numbers, and numbers do not control my life... with the possible exception of my SSN.

That does not, however, mean that I don't find some things highly coincidental and... "spooky".  For me, there is one number that keeps appearing time after time after time.  That number?  444.

I don't remember exactly how long I've noticed this persnickety little number invading my life, but it started out with the innocent act of looking at the clock.  It had an annoying habit of reading 4:44 when I would look.

Now that can be written off as a subconscious "tic" of the mind, since humans can sometimes be remarkably good time-keepers subconsciously.  But that's not the only place I've seen this number come up.

Time, game scores, timed game results, receipt totals, phone numbers... this number appears on my State ID!!!  And it shows up in some of the oddest places, as well.  Just yesterday, I noticed it as part of an ID code printed in the corner of the screen... on a porn video!!!  This damnable numerical demon shows up in my life at least three times a week.

And, of course, now it has become a game for Keeshaba.  She revels in calling out "Four forty-four!" when the time rolls around.  (I do not count these as legitimate occurrences of the number, as she is consciously seeking them out to annoy me.)

And then tonight, I discover something that I consider... eerie.  As I mentioned, this number appears on my state identification card.  Well, it turns out that this number, "444," is an encoding of my first name and middle initial!!!!  This number is ME!  Ow... this shit makes my head hurt.

Does this happen to anyone else?  Is there a number that just keeps popping up in your life, over and over and over again?  I don't mean like "7" or "3" or something... single digit numbers are all over the place.  But three-digit numbers... there are 900 of the damned things, so they're not something you see every day... unless it's the number that's stalking you, apparently!!!

Needless to say, any time I decide to waste some money on the lottery, the numbers 4 and 44 are included in my pick.  If the universe is going to be this heavy-handed in its hints, I'm not going to ignore it...  3dsmile

So, speak up: anyone have a similar experience?

Lol... I see pi all the time... or maybe that should be pie.

Otherwise, no I don't notice any pattern of a specific number reoccurring in my life.

Re: Numerical weirdness

Never heard of the golden number?

Joke aside I was never one to  pay attention on any of this crap about numbers.
Except the number 3 or 33

I was born the 3rd of june(3x2) lived the first 26 years of my life at an adress whose number 33.
I m the 3rd and last kid of my parents.
Many times over the year when at look at the time it's xx:33.
Since I left home my first flat was number 303 and my second 723.

Though sometimes 333 pop. For 3 years it was the cryptogram at the back of my credit card...

Re: Numerical weirdness

I don't think mine has anything to so with the universe, but 712 has been in my life, my brother (2 years older than me) my cousin (1 year older then me) and then myself were all born on July 12th (7-12) and to make it it even more fun, my first daughter was born December 7th (12-7) but really, other than birthdays...I really don't notice the numbers much....

Re: Numerical weirdness

For what it's worth, the number 10:11 has been haunting me for decades. Significant events have occurred at both 10:11 AM and PM and on October 11th. The combination of the tenth and eleventh letters in the alphabet (J and K) have personal significance as well.

At this point in my life, I simply chuckle whenever I notice the reoccurrence of 10 and 11. What else should one do?

Re: Numerical weirdness

For some reason, the Triple-Nickel, 555, has been my recurring experience.
