The golden ages fades into history

the creator Of the green lantern Martin Nodell died a few daus ago here the address to the cnn story

http://www.cnn.com/2006/SHOWBIZ/books/1 … index.html

Though I hadn't learned his name till now his Is some one iv'e admired and after reading his biography Im now even more impressed

Born in philly (i live in the burbs)
Created the green lantern for DC Alan Scott not Hal Jordan he came later
drew captian america and the human torch for marvel
worked on the team that created the pilsbury dough boy
retired in 1991 by drawing alan scott for the last time

He was 91

I could die very happy if i left half the mark on the world as him

as far as i know stan lee is the only living artist/writer left from the golden age it kinda a sad thought...

Re: The golden ages fades into history

damn... THAT is depressing   and sad to hear

It seems alot of the old time comic artists and creators have died within the last few years along with many of the old time entertainers leaving us with unoriginal bullshit feeding off more bullshit and us with nothing except our memories

Re: The golden ages fades into history

yeah...I'd been meaning to mention it...you have been looking kind of pale and skeletal  3dsmile

you can't give up hope...I mean sure life sucks but look at all the beautiful things sunrises, sunsets, waterfalls, the way that trees sway in the wind, the anguished screams of your victims , the peace of a secluded wooded area, the acceptance of people who get you, the embarrassing obituary of someone you really don't like , the pain and suffering of someone who really deserves it, really good sex, hell even bad sex 3dbig_smile
of course some people find hope and happiness thru a higher power (like TV or Internet ) 3dtongue   but I like to think it our job to help one another, but then again you might not believe in TV or INTERNET  thats your choice   3dbig_smile

Sorry just trying to get a smile I'll shut up now 3dbig_smile

Re: The golden ages fades into history

...huh...whose book from where?

I was qouting me from now 3dsmile

what does a book written by a sheperd and gotten from a firefly ( no matter how weird and freaky cool that may be ) have to do with child molesters...people who talk in movies...micheal jackson...and washing God's chariot....
....Now I'm confused.... 3dbig_smile

Re: The golden ages fades into history

It's out on DVD. Excellent show! Highly recommended. Rent it, buy it, whatever but you gotta see it! One of the best Sci-Fi shows ever created.

I place it right up there with Star Trek, Farscape and the New Battlestar Galactica.

Re: The golden ages fades into history

"Battlestar Galactica is the best show on telivision"
- Greg Dean author and artist of the web comic Real Life

I happen to agree with him
