question

how much of a shows theme  can i use before it becomes

fan fiction 


im going to write a story using idea's , terms and descriptions i have from read other stories


but  the core will be based  very loosely around bleach

PS the WIP  tittle is "the guardian"

As I understand the term, it's not true fanfiction unless you're using the original characters.  Otherwise, it's just borrowed concepts.  For instance, I do not consider my story, "The Jagged Gate" to be fanfiction, even though I borrowed concepts from two different TV shows (JAG and Stargate SG-1, hence the name of the story...)  I did not use actual characters, nor their histories, just the basic concept of the shows.

Anyway, this is my opinion.  I'm not sure there's anyone setting a standard for what is and is not fanfiction, and I imagine if you ask ten people, you'll get ten different answers...

But mine will still be the right one.  3dbig_smile  just kidding.
