Jeff? JEFF?

Jefferson?  Where are you?

Osama bin Laden gets killed, and you're not:

1. Praising our military, and

2. Bitching loudly that this improves Obama's chances of re-election

?  WTF???

Re: Jeff? JEFF?

Sorry.

The Navy SEALS did kick ass though and do deserve all the praise, even though, most likely, none of us will ever know the names of the men who pulled those triggers.

And, I ain't too worried about the small bump this will give Usama.. I mean Obama 3dsmile in the ratings.

I dunno

First birthers have a big flame out then Commnader in Chief caps Bin Laden hiding in plain sight for 8 years

Add to that of course - who do the Tea drinkers have in the bullpen for the big dance:  The bad comb-over, the Mormon, the weird woman from MN, the crazy old coot who natters about the gold standard?  Looking pretty thin for major league talent in 2012 November championship....

I'm guessing Obama 'only' takes 40 states against that line up...

YMMV of course 3dwink

Re: Jeff? JEFF?

The birthers didn't flame out.

I never really doubted Obama was born in the US. The big question I still want to know, if it was so easy for Obama to get and release his Birth certificate, why did he wait nearly three years to do it?

This is the question that Donald Trump and other real birthers will be asking. The fact that Obama and his administration spent hundreds, maybe thousands of man hours, not to mention probably some bit of tax payer money, to keep it suppressed, what exactly were they trying to hide? I hope someone thinks to Ask the President about this. Why was he so determined not to release it before but is so willing now? What changed? Did they finally get the state of Hawaii to stamp that new, fake birth certificate? Was he afraid it would cost him reelection? Did THE DONALD scare him THAT bad? (Conspiracy theories are a wonderful, terrible thing, aren't they? 3dsmile )

I'm not saying I believe any of this. I have every expectation that the birth certificate Obama released the other day is actual, real and true. But there are still questions. ]

As for the GOP line up, it's early yet. I'll admit, none of them have Reagan's charisma and oratory skills, but we already had a Reagan, we don't really need another one. We just need someone BETTER than Obama. How hard could that be? And there are some candidates out there, who haven't announced yet, and unless you pay close attention to the news and politics, they're probably people you've never heard of yet.

Mitch Daniels, Governor of Indiana.
Marco Rubio, First Term Senator from Florida.
Paul Ryan, congressman from Wisconsin.
President G.W. Bush's former lt. Governor, and three term Texas Governor, Rick Perry.
Darrell Issa, yes, a real life republican coming out of California. Presently serving on House oversight committee and causing Obama and his team, no end of troubles.
Hayly Barbour, Governor of Mississippi. Right now, he says he won't run. We'll need a VP too though. 3dsmile
Nikki Haley, who pulled off an upset to win the Governors Mansion in South Carolina.
Bob McDonnell, present governor of the great state of Virginia, my state and the state that has created more presidents than any other.
Then there's the big boy...
Chris Christi, the hard ass governor kicking butt up in New Jersey, also says he won't run but... Who knows? 3dsmile

I don't think Donald Trump has a chance in H E double toothpicks of actually WINNING the White House but I do think he should run. He will keep the other Republican's on their toes. He's willing and able to say and do things that no other Republican candidate could do. Like the Birther Issue, he can put things out there, force Obama, and the Republican candidates, to answer to things they have been avoiding, or white washing, for the last two or three years... Obamacare, the deficit, the government purchase of GM and then handing it over to the unions, not prosecuting the black panther case,  two bailouts that still show no sign of helping anything, the Pigford settlement, ACORN, the ban on oil drilling, and the slow walk they are now giving to oil drilling leases,  that is half the reason oil prices are going sky high.

Obama has a lot to answer for. Things that no one else, not even the main stream media, whose job it is to ask such questions, seem to be asking about or looking into.

Re: Jeff? JEFF?

It's really simple

The birthers and Trump got played  by Obama:

Obama released his  Birth Certificate with his little "better things to do" speech knowing the SEAL team was rehearsing in the OBL compund mock up.  He went to the dinner and ripped on Trump knowing the SEALs were in transit to PAK.  Obama waited to preempt last 15 minutes of The Apprentice to announce the kill.  And in a sweet little bitch slap at the press, he left them to twist in the wind when he didn't tell them what his speech was about until just before he walked into TV cameras. Birther issue is over and Republicans could face a backlash from voters celebrating Bin Laden brought to final justice.

2012 is long way off but so far the list of Republican candidate is uninspiring and if the Republicans in Congress keep talking about Medicare vouchers even the Tea party will turn on them...

Re: Jeff? JEFF?

Okay, this is real simple:  It doesn't matter how "uninspiring" you may think the Republican candidates are.

Obama is

1. A fool, and
2. A liar.

He has fulfilled exactly ONE of his campaign promises to his constituency, and that one has every likelihood of being repealed or gutted.  His economic policy is based on socialism, a *proven* failed system.  (What?  You don't think it's proven to have failed?  Ask the Soviets... oh, darn, you can't... they failed!  Oh, how about the Chinese, but oh!  darn!  They no longer have true socialism, 'cause it failed!)  He did NOT immediately get us out of Iraq OR Afghanistan, and he hasn't brought this country one single iota of hope.

This is NOT change I can live with.

I want someone in the White House who actually knows how to run things *properly*, so that the country can get back on its feet, reduce the deficit, protect itself, and put its people to work.  Obama has shown ZERO ability to any but one of those things, and that one has more to do with the military than him.  His policies are hurting the businesses that employ the people, while not doing a whole hell of a lot to help all those poor and disadvantaged that he's supposedly working to help.  He fails to grasp the simple concept that taking more money from people encourages them to spend LESS, not more, and as an economy is the movement of money, his actions directly harm our economy.

As to the whole "Birther" issue:  Whether he was born here or not isn't the real issue.  The real issue is that this man is not an American.  I don't mean legally; obviously he's a legal "natural-born" US citizen.  But he's not an American.  He wasn't raised here, and he doesn't think like us.  He is far more concerned with looking good to Europeans than he is with actually doing what's right for this nation.  We aren't Europe.  Our country doesn't run like Europe.  That's the reason we've been succeeding while Europe has been floundering, and now he wants US to run like Europe?  Exactly what sense does this make?

I will be honest:  it doesn't much matter who the Republicans put up against Obama.  I will vote for them.  NOBODY could be worse for the nation than the man currently in the White House.

I hate to rip on Jeff..wait no I don't 3dsmile

"We just need someone BETTER than Obama. "

while I agree with that Jeff....I was saying the same thing for 8 years with shrub.

I stay away from politics most days, but so far, Ive yet to see ANYONE in the running who I would vote for in 1012. The only one I liked in 04 was Clark, and if patreus steps onto the field this time, He may get mine, but right now, Ive got no one I would even care for.

Re: Jeff? JEFF?

Um.... I'm on SocSec.  I'm on Medicare.

Got news for you, there are only a few places you can cut major amounts of money out of the budget.  Defense and Medicare are two of the very largest expenses.  Cutting defense without redefining the military's role in the world is insane, which only leaves...

Eric Storm

PS:  To make this point clearer:  If you add together Medicare, Social Security, and Defense spending, you have already exceeded the amount of money we actually have available.  In other words, these three items alone already put us into deficit spending.  If you cut EVERYTHING ELSE out of the budget, we would STILL have a deficit.  Now, you tell me how NOT cutting some portion of these programs is going to reduce the deficit effectively.
