How long do you think it took Donne to come up with his crazy metaphysical poetry?
Almost as long as this is going to take (Family from Spain flew in, and we all got togather for a day... sorry if I've been absent, but some things have to happen)

Poetry is strange stuff. For me, sometimes the verses just flow and I put out several verses in a very short time. Other times I spend hours looking for just the right word. Ordinary fiction, on the other hand, is fairly steady. No great production, but slow and steady, when I can write at all. Personally, the "crazier" poetry is the easier it is for me to write. (Of course, no one understands when I do . . . )
So, to answer your question, I have no idea.
