I've gotten pretty good at seeing the form that the end of a story will take over the years and you've pretty much painted yourself into a corner on this one.
IMO, There're only certain ways that the main story can play out and a limited number of ways that you can portray it.Thank you. Whether you meant this as a compliment or not, you're saying that my story progresses logically, and without some bizarre twist at the end (now, would I do that??? ), given that we are so close to the end, you have a good sense of where we're going.

That was intended as simple observation -- neither positive nor negative. You are a good short-term & writer, and like you said elsewhere, you had your ending for this story planned from the outset.
You are very capable of throwing a twist into the story, but your stories tend to be REMARKABLY free of the deus ex machina which some other authors are fond of using.
I tend to re-read stories that I enjoyed the first time around, simply to watch how the writer takes their characters through their conflicts and resolutions. That also allows me to get a better sense of how the author is leading the initial readers and their ultimate intentions for the plotlines.

I feel there's a word left out here, but... could you please re-state this sentence? I don't understand it as written...

Auto-error reared it's ugly head

Ah, well, that makes more sense. Because, dammit, I write my ampersands for the long-haul! They're not just short-term ampersands!

Odd. I can't find a mention of the calculations for finding the OP being magic or divination. Maybe a typo or forgotten line?

Perhaps read my response a bit more carefully?

My bad. Was reading the response while on break, not surprised I missed that.

Yeah, you must really have been not paying attention, what with the reference to spoilers in that same post... Oh, well, no harm, no foul.
But I'm applying a 15-yard penalty, anyway. Why? Because I can!

congrats on finishing

unlike darthel0101, I am still hoping for something totally unexpected coming out of left field. There still needs to be a story arc taking us back to Woodward Acadamy.
Eric, I was wondering how long Penny has been sticking around as a ghost. That question came to me as Denise was discussing that topic with Zyla.

Answered in book 1, Sniper. At that time, she'd been dead for 20 years.

Hello guys.
I wanna know what would happen with the release after this whole story is completed.
Will the pre-release material be released chapter by chapter or will be released all in one go?
Thanks for your hard work, Eric.

The story is already completed. It has simply not been released yet. Release dates, both to PRM and to the public, will maintain their once-a-month process. To release the remaining chapters all in a bunch would simply not be fair to those who have PRM access.

Damn, this is setting up like the Battle of Hogwarts! instead, it's the Battle of Woodward.

Very glad to hear that Emile wasn't involved in the Daely setup, and that everyone at the school was on the up-and-up....
Very interesting way of determining the truth too...Also that the king was involved....that he knew about David that early....
So a very sad chapter, very scary chapter, very relieving chapter, and with the upcoming attack, very suspenseful chapter...Overall, a very well done chapter...
Thank You!

Get busy... with what? The next chapter's been written for months.

I wonder, do the demons who are working with the Vrudenans know about David's troubled path, and if so, are they working to keep him on it?

Consider the things that have caused his greatest rages.
How would the demons have had any effect on those things?

Posting the next chapter already. 😛

I will. In 28 days. I have already said more than once: chapters will not be posted more than once a month.

Loving it so far, looking forward to seeing if the demons dampening is effective against raw electricity, or if that can send them packing...

Elemental manipulation does not require the use of a wand, and AFAIK, is not considered to be a "spell".
As such, I would not expect it to be affected.
Offline
The use of a wand has nothing to do with whether something is a spell or not. This was discussed in the very first Charms and Hexes class, way back in book 1. The wand is merely a focusing device, to "point" magic to a specific person/thing. Energy balls are spells. Field spells are spells. Caput calitatem is a spell... none of them require a wand.
The demons are using a *magic* dampening field, not a *spell* dampening field. The issue is range. That being said, elemandy is usually pretty short range: you don't tend to try to control things that are hundreds of feet away from you, you're usually standing right next to what you're trying to manipulate.
