As far as I'm aware, only the movie series "Underworld" has ever made that claim.

The movie Van Helsing also portrays werewolves as the slaves of vampires; granted it is a cheap imitation of most Vladimir lore.

I don't consider any "fact" created in the last, say, 30 years to be a part of the official legend. Just like I don't consider the version of vampires I'm writing to be considered official legend.
100 years from now, if either of them keeps getting repeated, then maybe.

How many different types of undead are there? Zombies have been mentioned but I don’t remember if any others have.

Animated skeletons, Mumm-Ra (congrats if you get the reference), The nameless One (again congrats if you get the reference), Vampires, Ghouls, Draugrs, etc.

I'm reasonably certain he was referring to the Dugerran universe...
Those we know about: vampires, zombies, demighosts. The two that exist in the Dugerran universe that haven't been mentioned yet: dopplegangers and liches.

Eric, I just have to say: I truly enjoyed the new chapter (now that I finally got around to reading the darn thing) and eagerly yet patiently await the next.

Well worth the wait for the new chapter. Nice to see a few cases wrapped up. Eagerly awaiting the next installment.

Pay attention to when he posted the message. At the time, the February chapter was still weeks away from being posted.

That didn't end like I expected it too, but I like the twist on the kidnapping case....well actually I liked the whole damn chapter, but it was nice to see some closure on a few things and then we hit that damn cliff hanger (again) at the end lol
I'm looking forward to next month, thanks for another great one Eric!

Could someone please help me remember who Sherry Padman actually is? I can't place the name at the moment, and rereading the whole series although a fun endeavor, I really don't have the time for that at the moment. David is supposed to know her, so she should have been mentioned previously in the books.

She is the one that seduced David's old roommate Jim into committing all the thefts to make David look bad. Also the sister of the guy that stabbed David and escaped from the facility

Excellent chapter. Probably way off target here but I wonder if Dailey’s dislike of David has anything to do with his connection to Jacob. Like his family was the one who cursed Jacob.

All I'm willing to say about any of that is that you will meet Levi Dailey in chapter 10.

Another great chapter Eric. I’ve got all kinds of questions as usual, most pertaining to characters we haven’t heard about in awhile. If they aren’t answered in chapter 10 l will probably ask them either here or in a private message just to here your response. Hope your year is going well.

I'm going tp speculate for the fun of doing so.
Levi Dailey might be someone who is one of those zealots who has a grudge (Or is just in general terrified of) against Demighosts.

I’m not sure ghosts count as undead, at least not in the woodwardverse

Ghosts are, by definition, "dead". The meaning of "undead" is "not quite alive, and not quite dead". Therefore, something that is "dead", cannot be "undead".
And I have already answered this question, in this thread, I think. There are five. Demighosts, vampires, zombies, doppelgangers and liches. The last two have not been mentioned in the book, they are simply defined by the author as existing.
Eric Storm
PS: Like all my versions of non-human creatures, those last two undead don't follow their "traditional" meanings exactly, either.
