What they said and more. I'd love to see this brought to a conclusion. But then I'd just love to see more stories from one of my favourite authors 3dsmile

Glad you're enjoying it.  This one isn't on the immediately-active list, but it will be continued soon, I'm sure.

If you like dinos, especially in a more realistic look at their behavior, I have a recommendation: "Raptor Red" by Robert T Bakker. Be sure to read the foreword, I think you'll get out of the jurrassic park thing. haha

Re: Where the Maiasaurs Roam

Jurassic Park didn't talk about dinosaurs.  It talked about dinosaur-shaped monsters.  Misidentified dinosaur-shaped monsters, at that... since velociraptor was about the size of a small dog...

But even Bakker is guessing when it comes to dinosaur behavior.  There is no evidence of anything but the most general of behavioral traits in the fossil record.  You can tell if it was a carnivore or a herbivore... solitary or pack-animal... whether or not it raised its young or left them to fend for themselves...  But beyond that, you are entering the territory of "wild-assed guess", because there simply isn't any information on which to base a conclusion.  Was T. rex a hyper-aggressive territorial bully?  Or was s/he a mostly quiet predator that only attacked to defend itself and its family?  There is simply no way to tell.  Even if you attempt to base judgments on marks left on a skeleton... what's to say that the particular dinosaur you're looking at wasn't unique in his/her behavior, and that is exactly why their skeleton survived, when so many others didn't?

It's all a guessing game.  Paleontologists are all science-fiction writers.

Just an odd ball question, but are you referring him to 'Raptor Red' because of the movie or because you read it? I've read it. It really is more of a 'this is what I think they would do' kinda' books. Well written, mind, but yeah.

Re: Where the Maiasaurs Roam

LAoW, I've read the book, and it seemed to be more in the spirit of what Eric was trying to portray dinosaurs than most. There's a 'Raptor Red' movie? Seriously?

Weird, I don't know as it's the same at all. Ah well. And no, there is no "Raptor Red" movie. It's mentioned in Jurassic Park, the movie.

Re: Where the Maiasaurs Roam

Didn't like the chapter. First of all as a reporter said why is Tim answering like a politician? When did he have the training and got the confidence for that? Then he just makes a deal with a multi millionaire company and gets 120 million just like that? Yeah sure, being stranded for six months doesn't make you a master  Also I don't like how everything is going perfect for him, but Kevin is the one being dumped.

And the last ridicilous thing is Tim and his family with two babies wanting to return to this dangerous place. No sane mother would ever allow that.
