Bar tab (Post Drink recipes here)

(net we hope you don't mind us posting this thread)

this drink is only theoretical at this point as We haven't gotten around to trying it but We're 60-70% sure it will be good
We based it on the recipe we use at work

Irish milkshake (basic recipe)
Ingredients
Ice cream
Bailey's Irish Cream

mixing
pour 2 ounces of Bailey's into a blender and add 3 rounded scoops of your chosen flavor of ice cream (we recomend using plain flavors and adding Oreos, cookie dough etc. sepretly as this will keep the extras from blending into the ice-cream completly)

serving
as we are unsure of the strength of Baileys (we prefer dry vermouth and ginger-ale) We recomend shooting it the first time

Nope, I don't mind... and some of these might just make it to Drink of the Week status.  (Not sure how I'll pick them, since I don't drink, but... 3dbig_smile  Might have to hand that off to one of the other staffers.  hehehe )

Re: Bar tab (Post Drink recipes here)

Most basic drink I know:        two Limes
                                           one glass of water
                                           three teaspoons of sugar

Press the limes into the glass of water, add the sugar and stir!
Adjust amount of sugar and limes to the glass size and your own liking.

Great drink during summer!

PS: I like leaving the water out and adding a couple limes, bud some of you might not share my taste 3dsmile

How about a "Stiff Dick"? Also otherwise known as a "Buttery Nipple". My favorite drink, either way!!! 3dwink

As far as how much, I usually do half and half.

Bailey's Irish Creme and Buttershots (butterscotch flavored).

Goes down smooth...muha!

This gets my vote for Most Effective Social Lubricant --

shot of Vodka
shot of Bailey's
shot of Kahlua
shot of Disaronno

Creamy and sweet like a fancy chocolate candy, completely innocent-looking in an old fashioned glass, and stronger than three shots of vodka.

Why it's called "Screaming Orgasm," I don't know.

My ex-husband is a bartender. Never heard of this one. And trust me, I learned a lot of them first hand. Blech!

Re: Bar tab (Post Drink recipes here)

My favorite non-standard drink is something that I've been tentatively calling "Piss and Vinegar" - 4 parts Mountain Dew to 1 part Canadian whiskey.

I've also tried Sloe Gin with MD which is a nice, fruity concoction and I've also tried Jack Daniels. Canadian Whiskey is still my favorite though.

Re: Bar tab (Post Drink recipes here)

A couple of drinks some friends and I made up in college.

Tequilaide: Pronouced ta-key-laid
1 shot tequila
6-8 oz Mintue maid lemonaide

Captain Dew-
1-2 shots Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum
8-12 oz Mountian Dew

Both can be adjusted to taste, and usally get stronger as the night goes. Both taste great even if you don't like tequila or Captain Morgan's (I don't like Morgan's but still like the drink)

Re: Bar tab (Post Drink recipes here)

This drink comes with a funny tail, it was one of those nights where I wasn't going to get any sleep. The fact is, I really hadn't had any hard liquor in all of my life, mostly grew up with beer.
I was up north on the east coast in a small Arcadian town, that's half french and half english. The bar called la Gabriel wasn't cheep. I sat down on the stool and they ask for some ID, funny not only did I look young but I haven't got the slightest clue as to what I should drink.
Well after stating my tasted he came up with some drink and I took a few sips. It wasn't what I expected after beer it tasted to sweet. I still finished about 70% and sort of said it wasn't what I was looking for.
He ask a couple more question about what I liked and then went off to make another. Came back with some layered thing... Man did it look funky and it tasted that way too.
Third times the charm right, wrong it was worse than all of them. I was thinking I should quit and get a beer but the bar tender had other ideas and ran off to the back.
He pulls out this old black dusty drink book and flips through it stops on a page and starts wiping out like five different alcohol's and toxins I didn't even recognize, Well most of the bar I never looked at before.
He gives me the funniest look and put the glass down in front of me, now after a few inches of drink, that seem to disappeared, well it was good stuff. I was getting a little fuzzy. As I confessed before this was filled with lots of hard liquor and mixed in with all of the above crap. I was really felling it, well I was definitely getting some sleep that night.
It was winter their and the roads were slippery. No I didn't drive back to where I was staying. I walked, well tried to, without falling and told myself to walk in a straight line without slipping on the ice.

Man was I smart or what, I got trashed for the price of one drink, the bar tender only charged me for the last one. Wow, I couldn't decide weather that was the funniest or stupidest nights in my young teenaged life. Maybe both!

I'm thinking I should stick with beer, but man got to try both at the same time! But that's another story, involving a four hour long bus ride, and a six hour fight.

The Drink was called, drum role please...

Re: Bar tab (Post Drink recipes here)

Here's one for you. One of the many variations of the Mind Eraser:

2 shots of Vodka (100Proof)
2 Shots of Amaretto
2 shots Sprite, Slice or if you don't want the flavor just soda water.

You layer the drink with the amaretto on the bottom, the vodka in the middle and the sprite on top. You fit a straw into the drink and this is why its called a mind eraser. You have to slurp the whole drink down. Its designed to allow you to have a sweeter drink with a tolerable aftertaste while still getting the full alcohol content of a 100 proof Vodka drink.

You are aware that if your cocoa is near boiling, it'll evaporate all the alcohol?  3dsmile

I call this Funky Cold Medina, (I hope someone out there gets the reference)

1 oz Absolut® vodka
1 oz Southern Comfort® peach liqueur
1 oz Blue Curacao liqueur
You pour it over cranberry juice ice and serve with some more cranberry juice depending on personal taste.
Best served in a chilled glass, I personally prefer goblets, but who actually has glass goblets. Well I do....

Re: Bar tab (Post Drink recipes here)

I only know of one drink recipe but it's a good'un

Called an "Airborne Abuse" and named for the colour of a British Paratroopers beret
It will take you from sober to wankered in fairly short order

1/2 pint of sweet cider
1 glass of sweet white wine
1 shot of pernod
1 shot blackcurrant cordial
2 shots of dark rum
Top glass up with lager

Re: Bar tab (Post Drink recipes here)

Well, there's always Snakebite.

Half a pint of cider, half a pint of lager, with a little blackcurrant cordial for flavour and colour.

Surprisingly nice, despite the fact that I absolutely despise lager.  A favourite around these parts.

Also, this was developed at a party I went to once:

"Pink stuff"

Gin,
Cider,
Ribena squash.

Mix in proportions to your taste.  It was lovely.  Unfortunately, someone dumped a few cans of lager into it at one point and we had to drown the taste out with vodka and absinthe.  After that point, I stopped drinking, as it had taken on the name "What we have left" or "All that's left", depending on who you spoke to.

I am normally a white rum with Coke or Dr Pepper drinker myself but I have tried the other and find it quite tasty.  Don't know what it works with and what it doesn't but I have heard of the fruit juices I did mention.

This drink is taken from the drink known as the Stone Cocktail

Stir 1/2 oz Light Rum, 1/2 oz Sweet Vermouth, 1 oz Dry Sherry with ice, strain into a cocktail glass, and serve.

there are 10's of comics here (some of heard of some not) but from the look of things most of these if you read WC youve atleast heard of
